Meet Dylan
Hello, my name is Dylan Kelly, founder and Managing Director of Kelly and Family Funeral Directors. I’m originally from Kinvara, County Galway, and come from a background of farming, construction, and stonemasonry.
From a young age, I developed a strong interest in how people experience death, loss, and grief. In 2016, after my late grandfather’s funeral, I felt inspired to learn more. After the junior cert, we were given an option to continue on with transition year or work experience. I chose to gain experience working with a funeral director, which confirmed my calling to become an undertaker.
At just 16, with my parents' support, I purchased my first hearse. Since then, my father and I have conducted funerals for families across the country. In recent years, my partner Holly has also joined us in supporting the bereaved which she takes great honour in.
For us, this is more than a job — it is a vocation. We are dedicated to helping families navigate grief with care, compassion, and excellence. Thank you for taking the time to read about us.
Meet Holly
My name is Holly, originally from Clare, and I am Dylan’s partner. I work as a healthcare assistant in a nursing care home, where I have supported individuals and families through end-of-life care and loss.
That experience shaped my deep respect for death and the traditions that surround it, along with an understanding of how vulnerable families can feel during this time. I bring a caring hand, a calm and steady presence, and strong organisation to help ensure every funeral is carried out with dignity and respect.
I am always available to listen, to talk things through, and to offer quiet reassurance. Supporting families through a funeral is a role I take great pride in, honouring both traditional values and personal wishes with genuine compassion.
